The more i sit with this movie the more i like it. It’s not like an unbelievable hit or groundbreaking story but it’s unique in its execution with some strongly written/acted characters (the daughter + dad).
reminded me of in a violent nature for the obvious plot point of villain POV but the story was better here.
more of a family drama with thriller aspects and horror references.
Solid action movie. I feel like the tone of the movie, what I was expecting was a little diff. Thought it would be more playful, it was but at times felt too much like a poor man’s no country for old men. Ending was great, made it really worth it.
Jeff Bridges is a national treasure. Ben Foster serves his purpose as the crazy guy.
Despite how wild and unrelatable these characters feel there’s something so raw, so visceral. It’s a character study on their relationship, the fight for control, the game they play to fulfill their desires and keep each other entertained. While horrifying probably more of a realistic look at how real relationships function than most rom-coms.
I love how excited Daniel Day-Lewis character is at the end to get sick again lmao. Reynolds Woodcock is an early icon for me in 2025.…

John Cazale was an incredible actor - that scene at the house in Tahoe where he’s screaming at Mike - “That’s not the way I wanted it!!!” - goosebumps. I think we’re all Fredo more than we are Michael, tempted by desire, wanting respect and admiration from our peers…
