Flow 2024
There are so many beautiful things about this film - my favorite being the absolute beautiful observational work done by the animators. The personality of the animals was just perfection, and made emotional moments sing without a line of dialogue.
That being said, I wish I had liked it more and I can’t quite put my finger on why. There were some moments where storytelling decisions made felt out of nowhere, and I wish there was a little more cohesion. Overall still a wonderful watch!

Poor Things 2023
I went in not knowing much about this film except that it was “Frankenstein-esque,” and I’m so glad I went in with no expectations. It is visually breathtaking - every set and painting feels like candy, paired perfectly unsettling music and beautiful costume design. The cast is magnificent - every character is full of nuance, each one thoughtfully portrayed in an over the top, humorous, and tender way. I also didn’t expect it to be SO FUNNY - myself and the rest of the theater found ourselves cackling in between heart wrenching, weird, and touching moments. Absolutely adored this film.
