  one of the most deranged movies i've ever seen. the screenplay is appallingly bad -- one of the worst ever?? visually all over the place, sometimes incredible, sometimes hideous (there are some daytime city scenes that look truly terrible?). plot is literal nonsense. what even is Megalopolis??? i actually don't know?? is it just...luxury condos?? adam driver can stop time but it literally doesn't matter ever at all? some baffling music direction throughout as well....and a thematic conclusion that starving…

  so good, wow. tbh i am usually not a hitchcock fan, find his stuff kind of cold, but got really into this. the moment jimmy stewart first enters is amazing, and so is the one overt edit in the movie. all the blocking and lighting set ups are incredible, the moments where everyone is on screen at once, all reacting and moving in symphony to each other, beautiful.
