I adored this book as a kid. I wish more movies were made in this kind of art style, it's gorgeous.
Something that I didn't pick up then as much as now is how smitten Abel is with his wife, 💖Amanda 💖
There are many beautiful lines in this story. [about the landscape] "how vividly actual, and therefore marvelous"
I was so bored i just....didn't care about anything that was happening in this.
scenes where they are organizing mail gave me so much serotonin and I'm not joking I love that shit.
Kerry Washington was fantastic.
Unfortunately the film as a whole is overwrought, the characters are not nuanced, and the dialogue and editing are not great.
This story deserved a better director.
Timothee rocked it. the message was consistent and had great effect on me. Here is someone who feels trapped but keeps looking for a way to stay true to himself and escape other people's expectations of him. "You could be whoever, whatever you wanna be!" (Loki, 2021). don't let other people decide that for you! you can redefine yourself anytime you want to.
