This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
I saw this opening night last week, and I am so serious when I say that I have never been more disappointed in a film from a franchise in my life. It’s especially frustrating since this was literally my number one anticipated movie of this year. However, after reading some solid/convincing fan theories, I do feel a tad better about Ilsa’s situation and am praying it gets reversed in part two. Although, considering the amount of times I’ve been burned…
The ugly truth is that this movie isn’t good despite Gerard Butler staring in it. I definitely gaslit myself into liking this when I was younger watching the cleaner version on TV.
Rewatching this on a plane was kind of like a 4DX experience.
Definitely the best movie of this year so far and one of the best, if not the best, Christian films I’ve ever seen! It’s raw, honest, and ultimately a genuine picture of what true Christianity looks like. There are good and bad people everywhere. Even among Christians or “Christians” there are people that are prejudiced, disloyal, inconsistent, prideful, dishonest, etc. Jesus Christ, however, possesses neither of those qualities, and that is why we are to only truly look at Him and what He has done for us to understand what Christianity actually is.
