The evil is there but it’s embarrassing.
Our pedophiles don’t even rape, the victim is happy to be on TV, the bully isn’t that much of an asshole, but he’s still an asshole. And you’re stuck here, no one loves you.

‘America is not a young land, it is old and dirty and evil. Before the settlers, before the Indians. The evil was there, waiting’ - William S. Burroughs
Hard to express how deeply this film radiates evil. Alarmed to consider how much this film reminds me of Hot Fuzz, the psychopathy of the suburban and the selfish. Even the family unit is going to fall under the wheels. In the meantime the evil is buried and neutered, but never gone.
‘Hi guys im your principal and today your detention is going to be a vague task that will bring you all together and make you realise that, hey, maybe you’re not so different after all :)’
in reality these kids would go back monday and head nod in the corridor at most. fuck this film.
Astonishing how tight this film is, didn’t even realise till this watch but there really is hardly any dialogue for the last 15 or so.
There’s a lot to say about this film but one thing I’d like to point out as a cool choice is how clearly Brandon uses sex, and only sex, as his release. It’s easy to shove all the addictions on a character and show them binging everything all at once but that gives an out…
