Boy, I really identified with Orion. Having grown up with an overactive, catastrophe-seeking mind, and having some of those fears still present, I really looked forward to see how the story unfolds. I was disappointed.
On the surface, it's about reframing our fear-objects so as to see them as not all bad. So far so good. It was executed well-enough with Dark and the night entities. Each having a purpose (though nothing can convince me for Unexplained noises),…
Soul was an immersive experience in what we define as cinematic masterpiece. It's full of soul (no pun intended), not trying to be pretentious about the meaning of life as so many movies tend to be.
I had a great time watching it and it really drove the message home.
