  a beautiful story of a cat-like dragon and loser teenage boy and the magic of discovery that can sometimes be brought down by its weak side characters and it also has an underwhelming climax and the lesbian coded woman full of fury suddenly becomes a milktoast love interest the moment she discovers she doesn't have to kill dragons but damn the progression between hiccup learning about dragons in ways that nobody he knows has before and hiccup and toothless learning…

  final act so good it boosted my rating up an entire star. the animation gives cybertron so much life and i hate to use the word immersive cuz i never found that to aptly describe a film visually but. genuinely this was such an immersive experience. there's so much scale and a strong sense of wonder that is important to tying the whole world and by extension the plot together.
