Being born and raised in San Pedro, I feel like this film was required viewing for me. It’s allowing me to sort through some of my artistic interests and how my home environment may have influenced them. A fantastic documentary.

Moxie 2021
High school is not something I care to remember. A lot of why that is, is touched on in this movie. Realistically, my college experiences haven’t been much different or better. It is refreshing to see a film with a perspective that is more likely to start a thoughtful conversation when touching on the confusing life experience of high school. This is a relatable, occasionally heartwarming, and timely film that I highly recommend.

The Godfathers of Hardcore 2018
Easily, one of the most artistically pleasing and equally well-researched documentaries to be made about the genre of Hardcore. This is a movie about one of the primary hardcore bands when it comes to American Hardcore done by and funded through the community birthed out of Hardcore; it couldn’t have been done better and likely won’t be matched. United we stand, divided we fall, keep the faith! Hardcore lives!

Mank 2020
I’m ashamed to say I wasn’t aware of Mr. Mankiewicz previous to the press release for this film. Unsurprisingly, it’s a visually striking film that you can’t help but be interested in; especially if you consider yourself a fan of Orson Welles. Dadaist Marcel Duchamp is quoted as having said, “Not everyone is an artist, but everyone is a fucking critic.” I don’t think there could be a more appropriate quote for the nonsense writers like Mankiewicz had to put up with.
If you’ve read this far, I’ll end simply; if you find Fincher’s style interesting, make time to watch this film.
