seventeen year old girls if you are ever with a boy and he makes a passive comment comparing you to summer and you write it off as a joke since you assume that he has the common sense and also general self-awareness to mean it in an ironic way PLEASE rethink that assumption or I promise you you will end up stuck in the worst relationship of your life subsequently followed by a somehow even worse breakup. obvs not speaking from experience or anything. xo

rewatched this for the first time in ages after being shocked that my mom didn’t like it. it’s very much the kind of movie that you have to let yourself appreciate. the pacing is objectively bad and the story is choppy but I also think that things don’t actually need to be completely devoid of flaws in order to be considered perfect. anyways love love love this movie and the sense of joy and wonder that it evokes is enough to forget about the imperfections. it’s absolutely gorgeous and if wes anderson can be forgiven for his crimes then so can tarsem.
