Peak 80s teen movie, I’ve seen it before and even on rewatch it had me laughing nonstop. Genuinely if you haven’t seen it at this point you’re missing out. I don’t think there’s anything I can say about this movie that hasn’t already been said, it’s just a classic

The Substance 2024
Wanted to wait until i had slept it off to write about this because that was a lot to process. But wow I loved this movie. As others have said, I don’t think the messaging was particularly “deep” (I think we all know that beauty standards are unrealistic, etc) but I think the film’s lack of subtlety works because it fully commits to its insanity through some of the wildest visuals I’ve seen in a while. If you’re looking for something scary to kick off your October, go see this in theaters!
