Probably the worst episode of cowboy bebop. Ed, Jet, and Faye don't do much.

Spike seems to stumble through. Like the original Blade runner.

The first 30 minutes Faye, Spike, and Jet acted out of character.

This probably could've been cut down to one episode.

I don't like Sean Baker films because he's capturing the underbelly of America.

Whenever he shows families in poverty I get sad. This is basically my life and the people I'm surrounded by.

No hard drugs, but it's there. Factories, PFAs in the water, dilapidated houses, and everyone needs a shower.

    The conversations are too real.

I would put his influences as Italian neorealism and French new wave.

It's a nice contrast to the Hollywood glitz and glamour.

The dialogue is amazing. No unnecessary chitchat. It's cold and precise. Everyone is logical, prepared, and well trained. This came out in 1967. Major studios do not understand that video/film is visual. It's show not tell. Idk why this wasn't shown to me in film school. It's perfect.

This is literally Citizen Kane without any of the direction, artistry, or nuance of Orson Well's film. I made the joke that every time Reagan was laughing with his cabinet to do the Mr. Burns maniacal laugh. It happens quite a lot.
