rewatching this movie made me appreciate and love it even more. the dreamscapes and tender romance (and i am a sucker for romance) doesn’t stand directly opposite the gore-y violence of cannibalism anymore, which u would expect, but becomes one with it— insane. so good. will always at least be a 4.5 ★ for me. was also def comparing it to suspiria n cmbyn which also makes it a more interesting watch!!!!

overwhelming in the best way!!!! getting lost alongside mahito was a beautiful experience ( as were the visuals!!!!! as always!!! ) and it ending ‘how it was supposed to go’ with the different doors really confirmed back to me trusting that things always end up how they are meant to be in life. felt very peaceful after so much chaos. beautifully interwoven with mahito’s dealinf with the grief of losing his mother. yeah this was a great experience.
