Boogie Nights 1997
Incredible film - drugs, glitz and a 12 inch d***. A great take on the rags to riches and back again epic, indebted to gangster films, corny biopics and Scorsese. I thoroughly enjoyed this film but I do think the pacing did fall off a bit towards the end and for that reason There Will Be Blood and Phantom Thread close behind still occupy the spot for my favorite PTA.
As a side bar, watching this after having read the Crying of Lot 49 and currently reading City of Quartz I feel like my brain is interred in the San Fernando Valley.
