A very Kurosawa-coded horror that reflects on grief in a really unique way. It's a slow burn, but the style and unraveling of the plot make it one of my favorite horror movies in recent history.
It's got some interesting takes on dystopian tropes, but too much exposition and lackluster acting hold it back.
I have a feeling this will be a "love or hate" film because it goes off the rails at times. But some excellent performances and genuinely tense moments make it worth a watch.
