lovely cinematography and performances, some pretty exceptional theological commentary towards the beginning, and a third act that swings for the fucking fences doesn’t save this movie from feeling like it was written by a Christian think-tank trying their very hardest to convince you that atheism is for serial killers, and for that I can’t help but hate it on a deeply personal level.

Bolt 2008
there’s a shot at the beginning where it’s revealed that an action sequence was actually a setpiece for a TV show, and a grip in cargo shorts walks into frame and picks up a fucking car.
shoutout to the animation team for putting in a stupid visual gag about grips that only grips would get. the odds of a real grip watching this dumb movie about a superhero dog with chronic PTSD? slim to none — but they make a grip joke anyway.
