i watched this over the past few days of me being sick (the the couple days prior to sickness) and it was a very fun watch. i loved all the physical comedy and how much the actors would each commit to the bit. the ending felt a bit rushed and open ended but i thoroughly enjoyed things up to that!

colman domingo is fantastic and made me so fucking emotional so many times in this movie.
realizing mid watch that the actors were Also from Sing Sing prison and were telling their own stories in this film was overwhelming. their audition scenes were so raw and vulnerable and intentional, it made my heart ache.
the monologue about the plays being an opportunity for them to have what they can’t have in prison was heart wrenching and made me so fucking…

i had high hopes for this especially because there were certain characters i really enjoyed. unfortunately that ended up being why i didn’t like it as much as i thought i would. I wanted to see more of certain characters and every time that didn’t happen i got a little more disappointed. the last two episodes felt Very thrown together in every aspect. story wise, character wise, camera work wise, editing wise.. just.. oof.
if you want an art curator centered slice of life rom com then this can is a nice watch. Very low stakes!
