Civil War 2024
A fantastic movie. When first viewing the trailer with a friend, I scoffed at this film and immediately discredited it, thinking it was probably another dumb action film that wouldn’t have a leg to stand on. 2 weeks after its release, its popularity was undeniable and I was intrigued. The movie is not at all what I was expecting, as it follows a group of journalists and photographers trying to document what is happening in the United Stares.

An instant classic. Joaquín Phoenix absolutely nailed this performance in a movie that seemingly tackles subjects relating to mental health while also paying homage to and rebooting one of the greatest comic book villains of all time. A joker origin story with a more realistic spin to it.

Barbie 2023
Really great film featuring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. Went into it not exactly knowing what to expect as far as plot and so on as I hadn’t watched the trailer before viewing. Wasn’t expecting it to be somewhat of a musical at times, but it did deliver in comedy and story telling- zingers throughout, especially once Barbie and Ken have left Barbieland.
