The Times of Harvey Milk 1984
Did a good job of capturing the effervescence and charm of Harvey’s personality. Principal focus was on the symbolic impact of his election and two legislative victories (passage of the gay rights bill, and the defeat of Prop 6). Despite this, it was not a particularly political documentary, so it was hard to get a sense of Harvey’s political genius. I would have liked to have learned more about the political tensions in city hall, how Harvey was able to navigate them so effectively in order to pass his agenda.
