So...the lesson is that your wife and kids don't matter because there are bigger things out there that are totally real? Idk, I probably need to give it a second look

To feel or not to feel, that is the question. Why do we scratch scars and reopen wounds that we know will cause more pain? Is it necessary? Or is self-flagellation a part of self-discovery? "I think we travel to search and come back home to find ourselves there." (Adichie). What if you choose never to look? Great exploration of the relationship between the cousins, two really interesting characters, but there's too much still unsaid in this movie for it to really leave a lasting mark, though it still deserves a rock of remembrance.

Beautifully paced, and the connection between institutions and individuals induces deep reflection as the movie slowly pulls you along. What are guilt and innocence? In participatory justice, the jury are complicit in whatever outcome is wrought. If you know the truth and stay silent, are you guilty? If the process is flawed, is the outcome just? Nul n'est censé ignorer la loi ? In murky cases and atmospheric conditions, nobody's perfect, but does hiding imply guilt? And who is to judge? So much great writing. Lots of great questions, and LOVE the ending.
