    Having the vision is one thing, having the execution is another. Thankfully, this film executed that vision in my opinion.

    Has Miyazaki ever missed? His last one is one of his best (but all of his are not bad so idk).

    Standing on its own, this film is a joy to watch. The vibes, scenery, story all are classic Ghibli. From the start, grief is immediately established as a main theme of the Boy and the Heron and how it tackles it is quite mature.

    Some of the character designs are interesting and I can see them becoming future classics like Totoro!
