Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me 1992
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
Definitively the most heartbreaking film I have seen, and much more terrifying than I could've anticipated. FWWM rips off Twin Peaks' rose-colored glasses and shatters them mercilessly. Laura Palmer is no longer the golden-framed homecoming queen on the fireplace mantle, here we see her as she was: overwhelmed, tortured, and at the end of her rope.
The upgraded resolution, wider aspect ratio (1.85:1 compared to Twin Peaks' 1.33:1), use of mid-/long-range shots, and expansive color palette illustrate how Laura's life…Translated from by

black swan for guys in their 80's
fr tho everything about this is magnificent. the performances by elizabeth berridge, f murray abraham, and tom hulce are what stand out the most, but every other aspect of it shines as well - costume design, set design, score (obviously), dialogue, frame compositon, yadda yadda.
