For such a low-budget and non-cinematography film, I could not take my eyes and ears away from this. An incredible concept with a fitting one-room setting, I couldn't help be amazed by the dialectic twists of this character's revelation to his friends/colleagues. The simplicity of the fascinating ideas have enthralled my mind. Almost had me at the end in disbelief questioning the truthfulness of John Oldman.

There Will Be Blood 2007
Spilt blood is not red. It is black like oil. The colour of money is green like the unrelenting ambition behind a man's eyes, full of greed and envy.
Daniel Plainview's path of destruction blackens everyone he touches, similar to the black oil geyser set alight with devastating fire he kneels and marvels at. It brings to mind the images of the Kuwait firestorms during the Gulf War.
There is no end to the greed and ambition men like this have. Only when they've defeated their last enemy and bashed in their skull like a hooting ape do they finally say...

Memories of Murder 2003
Insane how good this is. Bleak and despair with such intensity. That final shot is THE final shot, leaving you with so many feelings.

Beach Rats 2017
Falls short in the narrative and character development overall. Cinematography and imagery is beautiful. Loved the Fireworks callback as a metaphor.
