    Mission: Impossible – Fallout

    ★★★½

Been on a spy movie kick lately I guess. This haven’t really seen the new Mission Impossible’s since the Philip Seymour Hoffman villain one so I googled which was the best. Fallout came up as the best and if this is the best the rebooted series has to offer I’m a tad disappointed.

Action scenes were amazing and all the bait-and-switches were entertaining but couldn’t care less about the relationships. The comradery amongst the IMF crew and his ex-wife or…

Wtf. That is all. Won’t really bother trying to unpack this-my brain would hurt too much.

All that being said I thoroughly enjoyed this-probably more than Yorgos’ other stuff, especially Poor Things.

Content aside this felt like a high school drama class doing different one-acts and I don’t mean that in a bad way. Jessie Plemons is always awesome and I’m glad he got such big parts in this. Everyone else does well with what they’re given.

Much like Denis' other (and more commercially acclaimed) movies, Sicario is just visually stunning. Some of the desert shots are straight out of Dune and you can definitely see the parallels. I feel like this is one such time. Both Sicario and the US government have obviously are…

    Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy

Watched this around the time of the British elections and all it truly does it is highlight how far the commonwealth has truly fallen.

Awesome movie and everyone is bringing their A-game. I love this one because it feels like a true spy movie, even moreso than James Bond and Mission Impossible. Espionage isn’t about flashy equipment, chasing sleek cars through narrow alleys or beating the shit out of a brutish Russian. It’s  about working contacts and playing politics. This movie captures that perfectly.

This is the one spy material I wish they would make a franchise of.
