  Lost my shit multiple times in the theater. One of the absolute worst things I’ve ever seen, no originality, but at least a laugh a minute! Mark Wahlberg’s overacting has never been better

  Takeshis' is Kitano's most interesting film, and also his most self-indulgent. I believe almost all of his films are self-indulgent in a way (Ren Osugi's character in Hana-bi, his mental state reflected in Sonatine, Kids Return and his motorcycle accident just two years prior, etc.) but this film is far and away his most. The tagline says it all except it's a bit of an understatement; I'd call this film 1000% Kitano. It is no one else but him, and…
