I really felt the runtime on this. It felt like Corbet wanted to make a 3.5 hour epic and he filled in the details after the fact. Stands in contrast to, say, Killers of the Flower Moon, where I felt as if Scorsese was telling his story as succinctly as he possibly could. Sort of reminded me of Emilia Perez (sorry) in that it’s thematically expansive and ambitious but doesn’t scratch the surface on anything. The epilogue made me gasp but…
