I ordered a shirt of this movie before I watched it. Kind of a risky move because if I didn't like the movie, then I'm stuck with the shirt, but this movie deserves 1000 shirts.
Exceeded all of my expectations. And it's made so simply, but so powerfully.
Only Chantal Akerman can do this.
I just realized that this comes third in the trilogy. I'm not too sure if it matters, but I'm still not too happy about it. Anyway, this is a masterpeice!
They Do Not Exist puts forth the horrifying reality, while using impressive filmmaking to further its point. I haven’t seen much that is this powerful.
Like everyone else says, it is really amazing how authentically 60s this feels. Every detail is perfect to my eyes.
A film of little moments surrounding a grand event, we can see the reality of what happened. Makes complete use of its runtime, always moving and knowing when to take its time to breath. And once again, the silence is so good!
Recently I have been trying to watch the original Twin Peaks series, therefore I haven't been able to watch as many films as usual. Watching this film, I felt as if I was still watching Twin Peaks. From the style to the actors there are many similarities between the two. David Lynch has such an odd style that I love, and this film is full of it. Great performances and an interesting story like nothing I have seen before. I can't wait to watch the rest of David's films and finish Twin Peaks.
