The film deals with a lot of contemporary issues regarding immigration, a touch of nationalism/ pride, struggles of being an illegal immigrant; how it’s not how it seems/ rose tinted glass.

It portrays very beautifully the economic inequality caused by borders and visas. It is very poetic and romantic at times. Especially the ending.

Has every element of storytelling I love. I especially liked the blend of spiritualism, religion, sci fi. It has funny moments, and deeply emotional. The films an allegory for dozens of different themes from our own lives. From American imperialism to moral ethics.
One of the best films I’ve seen this year.

Like crazy rich asian but nearly 3 hours long, full of musical, and the rich male lead has more charisma and character. It shows the inter-generation trauma that parents push down on us. It shows how opposites attract. A real romeo juliet story with a more progressive twist of a traditional family vs a modern family.
I like the progressive approach Bollywood movies are making in their story telling. Helping break the social norms that people feel trapped by.

A guerrilla style documentary intimately following a few characters in a French hospital, mainly a Syrian doctor. They delved into the struggles and limitations of the healthcare system in France and the hospital. How it breaks even the strongest people.

It had some humour in it and serious elements. It was entertaining to watch and it rarely left you bored.

It had the energy and anxiety similar to a Safdie brother film like Good Time (2017). Or the French film…
