  There's not a whole lot going on here, but Kilmer is top-notch and the tunes are good and it doesn't feel like it's nearly 2 and a half hours long. Basically, it's fun.

  The whole time I was watching this, I felt slightly disappointed, like it wasn't quite living up to my high expectations (though I was constantly in awe of its cinematography, visual effects, and score). Then, when I stepped outside the theater, I felt cold - not just a brief chill, but something that stayed with me for a while, despite the warm evening. That basically sums up this film.
