Not at all what I expected, based off seeing the trailer once in theaters previews, and not in a good way lol
Personally, any analysis that can be made doesn’t feel worth the effort.
This movie walked so A24 could run.
The way he is slipping into a psychosis the deeper he gets into oil.
The love he has for his kid feels partially selfish and partially genuine. He’s literally murdered 2 men but never laid a hand on his son. But he went crazy at the end with everything he told him because he wasn’t exactly following the “destiny” he paved for him.
That’s how you build generational wealth—exploitation.
One of the best movies I’ve seen in a while. Funny, mesmerizing, AND I cried. I only saw it yesterday and already wanna watch again
