Negative space is essential for pacing. Without pauses and breaks an audience is overwhelmed, as if they’ve been fed frosting made with too much sugar. But frosting without sweetness is equally gross (yuck milk taste). In that same vein, this film (with too much negative space) is bland and unengaging. Buried in this negative space, the story and ending was barely interesting. I’ve taken away a half star for the flashing lights that kept inexplicably coming through the dining room window.
