The Heartbreak Kid 1972
Watched with my dad, who loves Neil Simon but somehow had never seen this. He noted instantly the similar mannerisms of Lenny and George Costanza.
Adore the cauliflower line. Milky Way. Pecan pie. Jeannie Berlin eating egg salad.

White Noise 2022
Yom Kippur prayers were answered with a last minute ticket across the river to Royal Festival Hall straight after lectures. Adapted from one of my favourite novels, by one of my favourite contemporary filmmakers, who introduced the film live on stage alongside Greta Gerwig.

I'm Thinking of Ending Things 2020
There are no rules of what a film should be when it comes to Kaufman’s beautiful writing; the events become illogical, like fragments of dreams that take unnatural routes to display thoughts and memories of reality indirectly, and the dialogue gradually flows with no constrictions of the regular structure of a conversation. It’s a gloomy, enchanting and erratic fantasy, and gets more genius the more that I contemplate how Kaufman subtly presents what’s really going on.
