I mean, wow this sure is a film release in 1940.
So the first time I saw this film was actually in a film class and I have to admit it was definitely not my cup of tea. Hell it wasn’t Chaplin’s cup of tea either when he found out about the true extent of the Holocaust, in fact I’ve heard that he’s regretted the film. But is it that bad?

Watched this with a Truman for the first time around half a year ago and I gotta admit, this film is a phenomenal journey analyzing the ethicality of TV Shows and the people behind them while also questioning what it truly means to be free.
Watching someone’s life without them knowing is this weirdly disturbing yet curious subject. The settings in this film are almost utopian, but not quite, think of it as a liminal space. It’s unsettling and yet…Translated from by
