Going in to this, many would think it is merely a way of getting a laugh from the antics of a troubled Appalachian family. Underneath the surface, though, it is an incredibly tragic story about how so many areas of the United States suffer from cyclical trauma.
This may be the most visually appealing film I’ve ever seen in my life. For 2 hours and 20 minutes I thought of nothing in my life besides what was happening on screen.
I have issues with some of the character motivations and at times the movie does feel that it values it’s style over anything else.
This is easily a top three Spider-man film of all time tho, ranking up there with Into the Spiderverse and Spider-man 2 respectively .
