Catch Me If You Can 2002
Really checked a lot of boxes for me. Lot of printmaking (wow) letterpress (wow) depiction of France as a backwards country (wow) and said French letterpress factory (WOW). Kind of pro-cop for my taste. But it literally is just Leonardo in the 60s harnessing the bottomless power of listening to women and reconstructive printmaking. Amazing.

Mostly vibes. Incomprehensible plot description on Wikipedia was a bit of a roadblock to knowing what the hell anyone was saying or doing. Couldn’t commit to being fully Christian or fully horny. Flawless and stunning surrealist costuming and set (Nazis and factory aesthetic in 27 BC) wish it was even more prominent. Very 80s.
