I don’t understand how this movie divided audiences. Great acting, amazing creature design, suspense, comedy, it has everything. It allows for as much audience interpretation as possible, all while keeping us on the edge of our seats. I’ve never been more scared of an ape in a movie, and that’s not even the scariest part. If you hate jump scares, you’ll have to sit through a few, but never any that feel out of place or undeserved, and every time you hear a character say Nope, you’ll be saying it along with them.
