Julie & Julia 2009
This movie was fun and wholesome. I loved the costuming. It was so 2010s and I loved every part of it. Not 100% sure if I will still read the book though. This movie felt very complete to me. I was so shocked Julia Childs was so tall!!

The Tale of The Princess Kaguya 2013
This might be the most beautifully animated movie I’ve ever seen. I mean it looks like ancient Japanese art come to life. The scene where Kaguya flees in the middle of the night to the mountain side was one of the most incredible animations I’ve ever seen. Unfamiliar with the folktale, I was equally entranced with the story as I was with the art. One of my favorites for sure.

The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring 2001
God I am obsessed. I just finished reading the book then watched the extended version with friends and I think this might be one of the best book to movie adaptations I have ever seen. There were a lot of changes, but they were well thought out and improved the plot for film. I teared up so much in this movie it’s just so beautiful and perfect.
