The sheer spectacle of seeing this film again has completely overwhelmed and washed away any initial misgivings I had. This is an incredible achievement with a rare level of scale, control, and vision. It’s an absolute triumph.

The Girl with the Needle 2024
One of the best-looking and worst-feeling movies of the year. I say that with admiration, but it also might be worth avoiding entirely if you’re a new or expecting parent.
I had a feeling of what I was in for, but that was an incredibly harrowing watch. Once the floor drops out, it will barely let you up for air. Two scenes in particular were jaw-dropping and deeply unsettling. This was certainly affecting and memorable, but this is probably a one-time only watch given how bleak it is.
