Khush 1991
One of my biggest pet peeves is when people frame communities of color as innately patriarchal and significantly more misogynistic, homophobic, and transphobic than white society. So it was great to hear Khush’s subjects condemn colonialism for instilling compulsory heterosexuality in the first place, as well as providing examples of queer desire throughout South Asian history.

How to Survive a Plague 2012
Though this is a solid documentary, and I have only the utmost respect and appreciation for the queers, feminists, PWAs, and activists of the time, the controversies surrounding David France and How to Survive prevent me from giving it an enthusiastic review.
