    “As himself”

A staggering reminder of art’s essential role in destroying institutional divides, and returning identity to those who had their individuality snatched by such institutions. I can’t imagine how watershed a moment it would be to have Divine Eye be Oscar nominated for playing himself in a film about prison reform through art. It wouldn’t be an understatement to call it one of the most important moments in modern film.

This is spectacular, Bob Fosse strips back every detail of his identity and lays it all bare for the audience. His vices, his loves, his pride and his regrets; all explored and examined in some of the most original cinematic techniques. It’s all on show here in one of the most haunting films I have ever seen. There is nothing else quite like All That Jazz, it is a harrowing examination of self destruction and the acceptance of death, all dressed up…

Had me gripped the entire time but aside from the acting, it never pushed to that next level for me, perhaps aside from the haunting intro.

But yeah absolute powerhouse acting all round.

Watching this on a flight was easily top ten worst decisions of all time. Honestly not one redeeming factor about this - it’s absolutely woeful. Would be half a star but at least there’s some artistic vision behind it which is enough to make me respect it more than the Russo shite that Netflix pedal.

Sony Marvel (Madame Web, Morbius, Kraven) are more entertaining than the boring AI-slop Marvel puts out these days.

Was a welcome surprise to see Harrison Ford not phoning it in though.

Privileged to catch this in a sold out small theatre on its original 35mm film. Is there anything more magical.

RIP David Lynch, truly one of a kind and truly one of the greats.
