This film to me is technically really well made especially the performances and the overall unique perspective this was made in.
although this was not the best timing to release this movie, I don’t believe there are any political undertones involved. This was simply a period piece on how a sports broadcasting team reacted to the news of a hostage situation during the Olympics.
Life, relationships, and humanity are such strange and complex concepts. This film reminds me I really don’t know where my life’s going and that I don’t have all the answers. However, I don’t think you’re supposed to and knowing that is slightly reassuring. Past Lives is a slow but masterful film about human connections and life decisions. This was definitely enjoyable and thought provoking.
On a the other hand, this movie was just propaganda to romanticize New York. And honestly it worked.
