  Had fun, like dumb fun. Probably wouldn’t have cared for it if I didn’t see it in a theater.
  Some people will say it’s a bastardization of the franchise, like subtlety is thrown out the window for the sensational and overt. The cosmic horror of the first, the looming atmosphere is traded for a more obvious form of horror and allegory. It’s like a theme park ride. But honestly, this franchise is so fucked up that I can’t really cry…

  Man, what a triple threat Orson Welles was. Great actor, great director and great writer. Also pretty damn good looking, before he lost control of his weight.
  This is a pretty top-tier character study that manages to feel epic with only a 2 hour runtime. The cinematography is mesmerizing, with these shots spanning entire rooms with a beautiful usage of lighting and deep-space composition. The editing is also pretty timeless and keeps the movie from feeling dated. Orson is amazing…
