Completely unnecessary and terribly made. Inconsistent with cannon.

Once again Eggers DELIVERS cinematography, stunning practical effects, period accurate aesthetics, and breathtaking imagery. The acting and dedication to character embodiment goes above and beyond. For a classic story, it brings topical themes to light and is a worthwhile retelling. A very uncomfortable watch in the best way possible. This is film as high art, with symbolism and metaphor that makes you really think.

this movie reached through the tv and grabbed me by the shoulders, shaking me, and said IF YOU DONT FREE YOURSELF, YOU WILL DIE.

stunning cinematography. tasteful level of campiness that is evocative of Buffy the vampire slayer. PERFECT soundtrack (ALEX G AND PHOEBE BRIDGERS???).
this story is so important. the message is conveyed urgently, yet leaves you to grapple with the lack of resolution. it is as if the writers peered into my soul when they made this.
must watch if you are queer.

gorgeous cinematography (and shot in only 4 takes !!). homoerotic undertones. morbidly hilarious, and painfully suspenseful. a masterful use of a one-room set that keeps you engaged the entire time. holds up as a good watch despite its age. asks the viewer philosophical questions but doesn’t spoon feed you any answers.
