This was a case of doing loads of things not-that-well rather than nailing one strong storyline.

Quite a lot of telling (esp in the first section), not a lot of showing.

Robert Pattinson was good though, and I loved that Toni Colette’s character trait was “loves sauce”. Mark Ruffalo’s Trump character felt a bit on the nose.

Also, if he had his memories uploaded every 10 days, how did he remember dying? Wouldn’t the new body only have memories from up to the last time they did an upload…?

This made me deeply sad but with a little delay. It wasn’t until I was walking home that I thought I might cry.

A few loose ends here and there, but overall great performances, especially Pamela Anderson, and I found watching someone who has sacrificed everything to do what they love find herself rendered obsolete by a changing world heartbreaking.

I don’t understand how they made another film about one of the most iconic villains of all time but this time with musical numbers and LADY GAGA and managed to make it so….. boring?

The musical bits were jammed in awkwardly and Gaga’s character was ultimately not that relevant to the story. If it had all been intermingled (like in the best film ever, Chicago) rather than ‘blackout-musical scene-blackout-back to normal’ it could have worked so much better, but there never seemed to be anything driving the plot forward.

I just see no reason why anyone thought they needed to make this.

I thought going in knowing about all the controversies would bias me against this but it was ok but it was just bad on its own x

There was no need for this to be a musical. Tuneless songs with no cohesion between them all added nothing more than extra minutes to the film, no sense of place or culture at all (tho we know why that is) and omg how many scenes need to end in a fade to…
