She wants to speak nearby them and let them talk for themselves but then doesn’t subtitle what they say so for the English speaking audience (me) the only voice understandable in the film is Minh-ha’s. I don’t know if this is part of the anti-ethnography or what but eh.
I don’t know if I’m just simple but my guess is the film is meant to be about the camera and subjects without explanation or “ethnographic-ness”. Allowing the picture to just exist or something like that.
Better film to think about than actually watch
