  Though ostensibly a film about work, Wiseman's patient gaze highlights the variances in the way workers carry out their tasks. Many of these differences will soon be abolished. In semi-automated factories, half the workforce have been replaced by machines, those that remain are made into machines.   In interviews, Williams said that he wanted his music videos to suggest the emotional size of the songs they accompanied. This led him to develop a formalist toolkit of fisheye lenses, long dissolves and hyper-saturated colour spaces which became his signature style.
