Too visceral for its own good. Admittedly horrors not really my genre and there are some great performances, design, hair and makeup, fx etc but I can’t help thinking if they’d have kept it contained at 90 minutes It could have been amazing. I totally get why people love it but it just went too bat shit in your face crazy to have any kind of point for me and therefore lost all significance.

The concept is as crazy as it sounds but this is at times a genuinely touching and inspirational commentary on creativity, community and the power of the arts. To be or not to be, that is the question.

I totally get the potential issues around messaging and I have some questions about what the intention…

So glad I finished the year with this beautiful film. What a stunning debut from Charlotte Reagan as well as stunning performances from Lola Campbell and Harris Dickinson. Such a tender and imaginative film, a flair and style that feels likes it’s come from a director who has done 10 features. Some truly heartbreaking moments and some heartwarming ones too simply beautiful.

On a side note I set myself a goal to watch 50 films this year and this just…
