The Panic in Needle Park 1971
This review may contain spoilers. I can handle the truth.
they designed this movie so i could fall in love and then have my heart smashed to pieces in real time.
I feel like al pacino just has the craziest physicality like from the second he came on screen it was so electrifying (yes maybe i’m in love with him but he also happens to be one of the greatest to ever do it) Your first lead role, at age of 30 is THIS?? he’s INSANE
i need to rewatch the scene where he realises she’s using on repeat until I pass out from crying i loved this so so much

Mickey 17 2025
i had fun for 70% of this but it just feels like post-trump okja.
Definitely set my expectations too high, someone I follow wrote “nothing to write home about” n I feel like that captures it perfectly, aside from robert & naomi I do not think I’ll be thinking about much more after tonight (praying that im proven wrong though and something hits me in the night)Translated from by

A Song from the Dark 2023

i had the longest review in the world planned for this but i’ve spent hours discoursing it irl with anyone i know insteadin summary i was fairly disappointed & despite having some interesting folklore elements & one or two good visual spooks n scares, it fell so flat to me.
I feel it had too much on it’s plate to handle properly, like slavery, the supernatural, trauma, and apparently a message against the swirl and it all came together in…

Men 2022

the first half of this was super effective but then it just fell apart n felt like an exercise in grossness
lowkey in a film that’s about male violence ur using birth as something disgusting n horrifying ,,, much to unpack
also … the choice to cast a black man as the abusive husband ! a choice indeed
