The truth. This film’s structure and emphasis on the female perspective as the truth seals it as an incredible tale in a mostly male dominated genre. I loved this film and it’s subverting of the truth in each scene. There is so much more to discuss. But I am struck at the end with the fact that there is no true justice and glory for a rape victim—though there is for the male gladiator.
