  i cannot emphasise more how meticulous this screenplay is. it is fully elevated and polished by luca's direction, the cinematography, score and the performances. even after three viewings, i continue to discover new details from the connections between the characters to instances of foreshadowing, callbacks of dialogue and motifs.

  instead of being viewed as a love triangle, this should be viewed as its subversion. zendaya has been referring to the film as "co-dependency: the movie," which more accurately describes the relationship between art, patrick, and tashi. “you're jealous because you're not chosen by one and you're losing the other," as luca puts it. of course they’re desperate for connection, they’re human. remembering this, i find it easier to empathise with a character rather than hold their decisions against them.…
